MasterCard® now assesses a fee for processing and currency conversion
on all ATM transactions outside of the U.S., Puerto Rico or the U. S.
Virgin Islands. In order to offset this cost, effective September 1,
2009, BFSFCU will begin charging members a 1% Foreign Transaction Fee
on all foreign ATM card transactions. This fee will appear as a
separate line item on your BFSFCU account statement.
It is
important to note that this is simply a pass-through fee, and that we
are not charging the 3%-5% fee that is common with many other financial
institutions.
